Shreya Sokhal
Social Innovation Challenge President
Shreya is currently a third year Public Health major at the University of Michigan on the pre-med track with a strong passion for women’s health and education. She is a well rounded student leader and is dedicated to helping student led ideas grow into real change and loves that optiMize provides a platform to amplify student voices and power. She first joined optiMize as a Support Team member without knowing much about the Social Innovation Challenge, but quickly fell in love with the welcoming environment, mission, and most importantly, the people.
Beyond optiMize, Shreya stays highly involved across campus. She contributes to multiple research projects focused on diseases and clinical studies through Michigan Medicine, conducts food insecurity research with Maize and Blue Cupboard’s Student Cabinet, and is an active member of a pre health professional fraternity. When she’s not busy with school, research, or optiMize, Shreya enjoys trying new restaurants, relaxing at the Arb with friends, and going thrifting. Her office hours are open to anyone with questions about SIC logistics such as the attendance policy, workshop content, or simply to stop by for a chat!
